Since 23 February, the stock markets have tended to know only one direction: downwards, due to the global spread of the coronavirus. The Swiss Market Index SMI has lost 27 percent since then. In comparison, the Swiss Bond Index SBI, which tracks Swiss corporate bonds with a credit rating of AAA-BBB, is only 5 per cent lower than on 23 February.
